Purpose of Staging Area
|
This is where new FPGA projects that are being evaluated/worked on are checked in. When we start work on a new
FPGA project or idea we will check the source code in here and then post on twitter and in the IRC channel about the new work. If you want to get involved with new ideas then just follow twitter and join us in the IRC channel while we work on new stuff.
Getting involved with new projects is a fun way to learn about
FPGA's or put your existing skills to good use! Request to join this
project if you want to get access to the SVN area to contribute your
own changes or to even start a whole new project. Anonymous SVN is
available for those that just want to follow along. |

Papilio Synth This is the
Gateman Poly 8 Voice Midi controlled synthesizer running
on the Papilio One. A project is checked into svn, and it
synthesizes and runs on the Papilio One with an Audio and
Midi Wing. This has been tested with a MIDI keyboard and
sounds and responds great. |
Working, waiting for Midi Wing. |

Proposed Projects

| Description |
Difficulty |
Papilio Sound Card The idea is to use
a Delta-Sigma DAC and the Audio Wing to pipe PCM data
through the USB port and out the 1/8" Stereo jack of the
Audio Wing. PCM (wav files I believe) files should just be
transferred with Hyperterm or putty or something. |
Easy |
Papilio MP3 Take the Papilio Sound
Card project to the next level and include an
MP3 decoder
core into the mix so MP3 can be sent over the USB port. I'm
not even sure if this can be done on the Papilio One. |

generally post a new idea on twitter
and in the IRC channel while we work on
it in this area. This allows others to
be involved with new project ideas.
